Eligibility Conditions for Ministerial(HC)
For an appointment to the post of Head Constable (Ministerial) in SSB the candidates must meet following eligibility conditions:-
1) Age : Between 18 to 25 years.(Cut off date for age will be 07-05-2010 )
2) Educational Qualification:
a) Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized Board/Institute.
b) Typing speed 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi.
3) Physical Standards
a) Height :167.5 cms.
b) Chest :Unexpanded: 80 cms. Expanded : Minimum Expansion 5 Cms.
c) Weight : Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards

iii) The candidates must not have Knock-Knee, Flat Foot, Varicose Veins or Squint in the eyes and they should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any Physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
5. Relaxation in age
i) There will be relaxation in age up to 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC.
ii) The upper age limit up to 5 years is also relaxable in case of candidates already in Govt. Service and 35 years in the case of Departmental candidates which are on the same line or allied cadre and where a relationship could be established that the services rendered in a particular post will be useful for efficient discharge of the duties in the post to which the recruitment is made.
iii) The above concession will be admissible only where an employee has rendered not les than 3 years continuous service under Govt. /Department.
iv) Every ex- serviceman who has put in not less than six months continuous service in the Armed Forces of the Union shall be allowed to deduct the period of such service from his actual age and if the resultant age not exceeds prescribed age limit (i.e.25 years) by more than 3 years he shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding age limit.
v) The relaxation in upper age limit of 5 years shall also be admissible to all candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the state of J&K during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 and will produce a certificate from the concerned District Collector.
vi) Five years of age relaxation will also be granted to the children and dependents family members of those killed in the 1984 riots and 2002 communal riots of Gujarat,SC/ST/OBC relaxation, as per government instructions will be in addition to this relaxation. Children means(a) Son(including adopted Son) Dependent family members mean (a) Spouse; or (b) Children or Brother in the case of unmarried Govt. servant who was wholly dependent on the government servant at the time of his killing in the riot will produce a certificate from the concerned District Collector.
Children and dependent family members of those killed in the riots(1984 riots and 2002 communal riots of Gujarat)will also produce a certificate from the concerned District Collector.
NOTE:- The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be closing date for receipt of applications from the candidates in India( and not the closing date prescribed for those in far flung area).
6) Relaxation will be permissible in height and chest to the candidates as follows-
Height: For the candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorakhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the states of Sikkim, Nagaland,Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, Leh & ladakh regions of J&K will be 165 Cms. The minimum height for all candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes will be 162.5 cms.
Chest: For the candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorakhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the states of Sikkim, Nagaland,Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, Leh & ladakh regions of J&K will be 78 Cms with minimum 5 cms expansion. The minimum Chest for all candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes will be 76 Cms with minimum 5 Cms expansion.
